Crossfit Gymnastics is one of the pillars in CrossFit. We all know the traditional Gymnastic as a sport but in crossfit it also means ‘all bodyweight movements’. Everybody wants to master the awesome skills they see in CrossFit gymnastics such as Muscle ups, butterfly pull ups, handstand walk and handstand push ups. It takes time and a lot of effort to get you to these skills. Looking at the traditional sport 20 to 30 hours a week of training is just normal. Gymnasts put all this time in perfectioning skills and need to practise these skills over and over again.

Crossfit gymnastics is building ‘Brick by Brick’
It all starts with basic strength and technical preparation exercises to get you ready for the big skills. Our vision is building a strong foundation and being able to control your body during the process of learning skills. If you have control over your body you are capable of implementing cue’s to not only learn the skills, but master them. This first phase is the foundation of all gymnastic skills, once you master the foundation you are ready to learn all the Crossfit gymnastic skills you want. As long as you are willing to put the effort in.
Crossfit gymnastics is ‘You control the skill, not the other way around’
The next step is to ‘automate your skill’ which means: You practice the skill multiple times a week so it becomes second nature and it takes you less effort. Then we start to add intensity to get you the goal of implementing the skill in your work out. We will take you there and always keep an eye on your technique.

What to expect
That is what we do at STOKED CrossFit gymnastics. We not only make you super strong in the basics, but also teach you how to move safely. Making you aware of what you are doing is the most important thing: you control the skill, not the other way around.
Here at STOKED we have one of the best CrossFit gymnastic coaches in the country. Brenda has 20+ years of experience in the olympic sport and with 10 years of CrossFit experience, she translates all her experiences to the skills in CrossFit.
